When judging whether an object is good or bad in a particular area, consider the make and colour of the object. This will give you clues to whether its placement is suitable.
One reader wrote to me asking:
I would like to know if it is ok to have silver black roof tiles like the roofs I see in homes in Suzhou. Does the colour of the roof have any real impact on the energy of the house?
Some feng shui masters consider silver black tiles to represent water and symbolically, having water above the head means you’ve drowned. The same intepretation is applied with the use of blue roof tiles. I personally subscribe to this belief – and prefer gray, red, green or brown tiles. However, it is a matter of debate in the feng shui world and I leave it to you to decide.
Remember that Colours used in feng shui are associated with the elements they represent. Here’s a simplified version for colours as a guide:
- Water – Blue, Black
- Wood – Green
- Earth – Yellow, Mustard, Brown
- Fire – Red, Orange
- Metal – Gold, Silver, Gray, White
HHi – Please could you tell me what colour scheme in terms of paint and bedding, should be used in a bedroom in the North/North East sector?
Many thanks
If your room is located more towards North, use white. If more towards Northeast use Beige. Do not use blue… as this symbolises water and when used inside a room it could symbolise that you’ve already drowned.
